Bone Grafts

A bone graft is used to fill the space left by the tooth’s root with viable bone so that your mouth can be restored to optimal function.

Standard Bone Graft

Our office offers two different types of bone grafts.  The first being a standard bone graft and second a PRF (platelet rich fibrin ) bone graft. In a standard bone graft, we place bone in the space created by the extraction and wait 90 days to let the bone integrate, at which time we can proceed with placing the implant.

PRF Bone Grafting

With our new PRF bone grafting technique our team will draw a small amount of your blood and centrifuge the sample. This allows the body to believe the bone graft is your natural bone speeding healing time. Then a fibrin skin graft is sutured over the site facilitating gum healing.

With the use of this PRF bone graft we can reduce the time it takes for implant healing down by many months in many cases even extracting the tooth and placing the implant at the same appointment.
